There will be occasions in which you want to make sure that an item you want for a job is available. You can reserve the item, and designate it for your job on the related job planning line.

To reserve an item for a job

  1. In the Search box, enter Jobs, and then choose the related link.

  2. Select the job you that want. Create a job planning line and specify the type to Item. For more information, see How to: Create Job Planning Lines.

  3. Enter details about the item that includes the item number and the quantity of the item that the job planning line requires.

  4. On the Actions tab, in the Functions group, choose Reserve. The Reservation window opens.

  5. To immediately reserve an item, choose Reserve from Current Line.
